Overview:
It's been three years since the devastating accident . . . three years since Mia walked out of Adam's life forever.
Now living on opposite coasts, Mia is Juilliard's rising star and Adam is LA tabloid fodder, thanks to his new rock star status and celebrity girlfriend. When Adam gets stuck in New York by himself, chance brings the couple together again, for one last night. As they explore the city that has become Mia's home, Adam and Mia revisit the past and open their hearts to the future - and each other.
Told from Adam's point of view in the spare, lyrical prose that defined If I Stay,Where She Went explores the devastation of grief, the promise of new hope, and the flame of rekindled romance.
Where She Went by Gayle Foreman is told from the voice of Adam, Mia's boyfriend who was suddenly dropped by Mia a couple of months after the tragic accident that changed all their lives. Adam was devastated by his unexplained break up with Mia and the last three years of his life have been defined by it even though he's a successful rock star with a actress for a girlfriend. Right before a major tour is about to pick up Adam finds himself in NYC attending one of Mia's Cello concerts. She finds out that he's in the crowd and asks to speak with him and from there they go on a journey exploring NYC, themselves and the last three years.
Where She Went is one of those books you just can't put down because you want to, NEED to know how it's going to end. Even if you think you know what's going to happen you still want to see the characters get there. Where She Went is the predecessor to If I Stay.
I literally finished reading this book in about three hours. I picked it up intending to read the first chapter and before I knew it I was on page 50 and then 95 and then 150 and then it was over leaving me wishing there was more but beyond satisfied with the ending. Foreman really sucks you into these characters just like in If I Stay I found myself crying with these characters, putting myself in their shoes and hoping that they got their happy ending because they deserve one.
While it's technically YA, I think If I Stay and Where She Went should be on everyone's must read list! I give it five starts {I LOVED It} and I can't wait to own it so I can read it whenever I feel like it!
