A Couple of Pitfalls...

One of the reason I chose to weigh myself on Fridays was because I knew that the weekends tend to be pitfalls for diets. So the last thing I wanted to do was weigh myself on a Monday.

Anyway the last two days I've completely tanked my diet. Ironically enough it's the only two days I've exercised in quite some time!

On Saturday I walked 5 miles. Yes 5. B's Mom and I walked downtown from my house and then walked back to my house. Then we went to Costco. Enter Pitfall number 1:

Costco samples to be exact. There were SO many and they were so hard to turn down and to be honest I didn't try to turn them down. But even that I didn't necessarily consider a pitfall, I figured the workout fixed that although the point of working out was to lose weight NOT to eat Costco samples.

That very same day I had pitfall number 2

I think if I had to pick a favorite candy ever this might be it. So when I saw them on display at 7-11 I couldn't help but grab one. And let me tell you it was delicious. The calories aren't so far off from some of my NutriSystem desserts {which I skipped in favor of this} but the fat? yea. That's the main difference.

Then there was Sunday. It was a disaster. For one I woke up later than usual {Thanks DST} so my breakfast, lunch, snack, dinner schedule was all messed up. And I couldn't stop picking at some melted chocolate {pitfall number 3} I had to clean out of the fridge. And then B had me run to the store and get dessert for his Dad and him. And that was Pitfall number 4, 5, 6.

 Ultimate Crumb Cake

It was delicious. It was SO delicious that I may have had more than my fair share. My fair share would have been nothing. I had 3x that. I obviously my NutriSystem Dessert today. But I don't think that or my 20 minutes of Pilates has anything on that yummy full of calories and fat delicious crumb cake.

Lessons Learned

  • Just because you have a pitfall doesn't mean you have to have pitfall after pitfall after pitfall after pitfall...well you get the point
  • Moderation is Key
  • It's okay to have a pitfall or pitfalls. The best thing you can do is start the next day fresh, drink your water and work out harder/more!

Tomorrow or at this point Today's another day! Plans include 20-30 minutes of Pilates and 35+ minutes of walking! And right now I'm going to do some crunches before bed. That will get rid of the crumb cake calories right? ;)

I'll let you know how it goes!
